Team Nana

Now until October 31st(http://www.claudiagilldesigns.com/) will be promoting the sale of this beautiful Sterling Silver and Swarovski Crystal necklace, in honor of all the women who have suffered or lost a loved one to breast cancer. This spectacular necklace will be available for purchase through the online store, where 50% of the proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation through a dear friend who lost her beloved grandmother four years ago to breast cancer. Every year her family and friends raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation in the "Race for the Cure". Her grandmother Nana was a woman of her own class, who touched the lives of many. It is an honor for me to be part of such a wonderful cause and as a token of my appreciation, I present a symbol of love and remembrance for the fight to end breast cancer. King Tut Exhibition

This past Sunday my husband, Son and I Went to  Discovery Times Square to see the King Tut exhibit. I was amazed by the beauty of many of the artifacts shown in the exhibition, and of course, more the jewelry than anything else. As a Jewelry Designer, I am often mesmerized by intricate, delicate, and elaborate jewelry pieces. The jewelry shown at the New York King Tut exhibition, (Like the one shown in the picture) is not only full of history. The beauty and the details that these one of a kind pieces made for a king show, are worthy of anybody taking a second look. Gold, Semi precious stones such as Lapis Lazuli, and Silver are among the materials used in many of the jewelry pieces displayed in the exhibition. If you live in New York or are planning a trip by January 2nd, do attend this wonderful exhibition, as you may never have another chance of seeing it again.

My studio!!

I Love working from my home studio. It is where I create, brainstorm, design, and research for my jewelry creations. It is where I go to unwind and block everything and everybody out, that is, of course, until my nineteen month old son calls out, "Mama"!!!!

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

It is every parent's worst nightmare, and something we probably don't even like to discuss or think about. As a mother, making sure my child is safe is my biggest priority. But when something that we as parents cannot control, like childhood cancer, occurs, we need to be well informed in order to understand and help our children better. Every year, more than 9,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is the leading cause of death among children. Children tend to develop different types of cancer than adults.
Cancer, altogether is a disease that is affecting so many people. It not only affects those that suffer from the disease, it also affects the lives of all the loved ones that are part of that person's life. This month is National Childhood Cancer awareness Month, next month (October) is breast Cancer awareness month. It is very important that we become educated and aware that Cancer is a reality of life, and that it can happen to any of us. We tend to only take notice when it happens to someone we love, but it's important to understand that getting involved in any way yo can, will also create awareness. Awareness saves lives.

Just be Yourself

If there is anything valuable that I have learned in my young life is to always believe 100% in myself. If you want to accomplish anything in life, there is nothing more important than to just be yourself and value what you believe in. There will always be opinions, but you can never please everybody. If you try to do that, you will go crazy!! Always pour your heart and soul into everything that you do. If you think that you can do something, go for it!! Don't even think about it too much, if you do, then you will never try. it's good to dream, if you don't dream, then you will never have goals in life. I believe that the difference between those that separate themselves from the rest is the fact that they follow what they believe in. The biggest obstacle that you could ever encounter is yourself.
